Looking back...

About 3 months ago my life changed in ways I didn't even know were possible...
I gave birth to my son after three days of labor. After giving birth to him I guess I didn't realize just how much I would depend on him and he on me. And let's face it nothing can ever prepare you for having a new person come into your life and change it quite the way that a baby can.
I know I have heard from everyone that my life was going to change once my baby came into the world but I guess I just didn't realize just how much.
For once I have someone who depends so much on me that I can't slack off and not do my job.
But I have to say that I love every minute of my new "job" and wouldn't give it up for the world!

A cold and other things...

So it's 12:23AM on Friday January 20, 2012 and this marks day 7 of having a cold...
Now if I were the only one affected by it I would be ok but as a good cold does it has contaminated everyone in the family...
So now the Little Man is sick and although he is getting better I fear that since I have had a relapse he will soon be getting one of his own. For 5 days now he has been a sour puss (granted he seems more like himself as the 5 days have gone by) and has cried more in this little span of time than he has since he was born.
On top of it all he is also teething which is the funniest thing. Yeah I know that sounds mean and all that but considering that his one tooth just came out of nowhere you would find that funny too. About nine days ago he grabbed my finger and put it into his little mouth and as he chomped down on it I realized that something was amiss. No longer was I feeling gums but here I was feeling a little pointy stab-y thing as well. So after much coaxing I got a look and there it was: a tooth! As of now the Little Man is no longer a toothless wonder.
While I can't help but be happy to see that he is growing and that he is going threw all the developmental steps he's supposed to I am also sad to see him grow up... I spend a lot of time with another babies who were born about the same time that the Little Man was and I can't help but notice that I have a giant. All the other little ones are still small in comparison to him and in many ways it breaks my heart that the Little Man just flew threw the "little" phase of babyhood. To give you an idea of how big he is at 6 1/2 months old he is wearing 12 month old clothing and has almost outgrown his car-seat.

Things I am thankful for this year.

This year I have so much to be thankful for like my awesome husband and my son.
JJ has been a great help this year, from being a super supportive hubby during the three day extravaganza that was Felix 's birth. He was a rock for me during such an incredible rock and helping me with such simple things as getting out of bed in the middle of the night to feed Felix when we got home from the hospital.
Then after I was all healed up he let me stay home to take care of the little man.
Felix, who I think is the best thing that has ever happened to me after meeting JJ of course and who has healed my heart in ways that I could probably never fully explain.
Yoda who is my faithful puppy and who loves Felix. She has the kindest heart and is so very patient with the little man who has yet to learn how to pet her. Most of the time he slaps the crap out of her and just looks at him like its nothing.
Liberty who keeps me entertained and annoyed all at once.
My parents who are there for me as sounding boards for the everyday stuff that bug me.
The last thing I am grateful for is Skype who allows me to see my family and them to see Felix. So that even tho they are a world away get to see him grow.
